Dozen killed in attack in Omo Zone

Close to a dozen civilians are reported to have been killed and 26 others injured in a clash that occurred in the South Omo Zone of the Southern Regional State.

The incident occurred on Monday night where a member of a tribe called Bodi started to randomly attack vehicles and their drivers who were active in the area.

The members of this ethnic group performed the attacks allegedly in revenge to one Bodi killed in a car accident the same day.

Most of the people who were killed in the attack have been working at the area as truck drivers for construction companies, specifically in the locality called Haiel weha, in South Omo Zone.

Those who have sustained injuries are now receiving medical attention at the Sodo Christian and Jinka Hospitals, according to sources in the area.
