First-Ever Africaribbean Trade & Investment Forum Opens in Barbados

Organized by Afreximbank, the Pan-African financier, the first-ever Africaribbean Trade Investment Forum officially opens today in the capital of Barbados, Bridgetown.

The Forum, under the theme of One People-One Destiny, will take place for three days until September 03 and it is intended to help strengthen relations between the private and public sectors of the two regions to advance trade and investment, according to the organisers of the event.

The 2022 Africaribbean Trade and Investment Forum was birthed when a delegation from the Afreximbank paid an official visit to Barbados from September 27-30, 2021.

About 750 delegates from Africa and the Caribbean, including government officials and private sector representatives, are expected to participate in the Forum.

Ethiopian Airlines has provided a direct chartered flight to facilitate the travel of delegates from Africa to Barbados.

Passengers of the flight arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport on Wednesday with 103 passengers, including conference delegates and over 20 media personnel
