FIFA appoints Abraham Mebratu as technical expert

EFF extends coach Wubetu’s contract

Abraham Mebratu, head coach of Bahar Dar City Football Club and an elite Confederation of African Football (CAF) instructor, has been appointed as a technical expert by FIFA, the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) announced.

The appointment is said to be for two years, renewable on a case-by-case basis.

FIFA, which has 211 member countries, considers the contributions of experts to football when selecting professionals in this field.

The instructor is said to prepare training for technical directors, instructors, and related football issues, provide technical advice to member countries and regional football development, monitor various football development programs, and prepare important documents for the new FIFA development program.

Wubetu, who took over in September 2020, has led the team to the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament after an eight-year absence, as well as the African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals after a six-year absence.
