The giant Dutch brewery, Heineken Brewery NV, has started producing Heineken beer brand at its Kilinto brewery. The factory embarked on its current expansion 14 months ago, at a cost of 88 million euros. Hence, the factory annual production that was 1.5 million hectolitres has increased to three million hectolitres per annum, which is equivalent to three million bottles per day. The company has invested a total of 400 million euros since starting production in Ethiopia in 2011.
The factory is now contributing the lion’s share of the beer production in the country. Pictured are Managing Director of Heineken Breweries SC, Gerrit Van Loo and Corporate Relations Manager Serawit Bezabeh, during the launching of the production of Heineken beer brand in Ethiopia.
