Ministry of Finance and Ethiopian Investment Holding (EIH) has extended deadline for the privatization bid to October 5, 2023, which was originally slated for august 3, 2023.
The two institutions, on behalf of Ethiopian government, issued the Expression of Interest (EoI) back in august 2022. Government also disclosed some 20 local and international investors have expressed interest.
Nonetheless, the RFP submission and site visits for the eight projects are postponed based on the ‘request of potential bidders’, according to the statement issued by MoF on July 31, 2023.
The projects include Arjo Dedessa, Kessem, Omo Kuraz 1, Omo Kuraz 2, Omo Kuraz 3, Omo Kuraz 5, Tana Beles, and Tendaho.
