We Care, We Help

As the Ethiopian New Year draws near, a wave of altruism sweeps across the land under the theme of “We Care, We Help”. On September 5th, a unique collaboration took place, bridging borders and cultures as Chinese community volunteers in Ethiopia partnered with Dukem’s Municipal Government. This philanthropic event, sponsored by Ethiopian Diyuan Ceramics, was held at the Dukem Stadium, aiming to bring joy, care, and a sense of community to those most in need during this festive season.

The event was attended by notable attendees, including Ms. Li Meifang, Chairperson of the Chinese community volunteers in Ethiopia, the Mayor of Bishftu, Director of Bishftu Labor Bureau, and the Director of Dukem Safety Bureau. All these dignitaries lent their support to this noble cause, co-organized by Ethiopian Diyuan Ceramics.

The heart of the event was the donation ceremony, where a generous trove of essential supplies, valued at 1 million birr, was handed over to the community. The donation, including rice, eggs, cooking oil, and chicken, was distributed among 300 locals in need, each package worth about 3,000 birr. This initiative is a testament to Diyuan Ceramics’ commitment to improving the local living standards through its social welfare endeavors.

As the ceremony unfolded, Ms. Li Meifang shared her reflections, highlighting the symbiotic relationship that has grown between Diyuan Ceramics and the Dukem community. She expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support and care extended by the Dukem Municipal Government, various governmental departments, and the local people since Diyuan Ceramics’ establishment.
