Transitional justice policy to be tabled to Council of Ministers

Officials at the Ministry of Justice say they are preparing to submit a draft of the ‘National Transitional Justice’ policy to the Council of Ministers in the coming few weeks.

The announcement follows the completion of validation workshops that saw the public, political parties, civil societies, government officials, and academics review the draft over the past week.
The Ministry says the workshops “reaffirmed the public’s greater sense of ownership in the process.”

Justice officials are set to incorporate the “huge volume” of input into the draft before forwarding it to the Council of Ministers.
