Ethiopia slides eight places in FIFA ranking

The Ethiopian National Football Team a.k.a Walias has gone down eight places in the latest FIFA/ Coca-Cola world ranking. The Walias are now placed 145 with 188.

In the previous FIFA rankings, Ethiopia was 138 with 221 points. Tunisia is the highest ranked African team placed 14th with Senegal and DR Congo on 28th and 38th, respectively. Germany still tops the rankings with 1533 points, followed by Brazil with 1384 points. Belgium occupies third place having 1346 points while Portugal is placed fourth with 1360 points.

In the past months, most nations across the world were busy having international friendlies while the Walias are still without a coach after they failed to qualify for the 2019 AFCON and CHAN Competitions.

Following the unhealthy way of selecting a new football federation president, FIFA has ordered the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) to hold a re-election of the electorate committee which will screen candidate for the coming presidential and other EFF executive elections.
