The Ethiopian National Team coach, Yohannes Sahle, has named his 24-man squad ahead of the Walias match against Algeria for the 2017 African Cup of Nations, which will be held at the end of this month in Bahir Dar.
Getaneh Kebede ( University of Pretoria/South Africa) and Shemelis Bekele (Petrojet/Egypt) are included in the squad while Salahdin Said has made it to the provisional squad after missing the CHAN tournament back in November through injury.
After the Walias poor performance at the 2016 CHAN Yohannes seems determined to strengthen his squad that will host the Desert Warriors.
Having players like Riyad Mahrez, who plays for Leicester City, Yacine Brahimi of Porto and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentalb the Walias are set to face their tough challenge yet. The profisional squad will start their training in the coming weeks.
With 4 points the Walias are placed second in Group J following Algeria, who is = on the top. The Ethiopian National Team defeated Lesotho 2-1 at Bahir Dar stadium and drew 1-1 with Seychelles in an away match.
