Yohannes Ayalew (PhD), Vice Governor and Chief Economist of the National Bank of Ethiopia, has been relieved of his position, The Reporter has learnt.
According to sources close to the Bank, Yohannes was relieved from his position since yesterday and he has been appointed as executive director of the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI).
Yohannes is expected to bring some 28 years of experience in the fields of finance, monetary policy and economic growth to EDRI. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom.
