Addis Ababa demonstrates against recent violence

Following the brutal violence that commences at the end of the week and over weekend in Burayu and the surrounding areas of Addis Ababa claiming the lives of unknown number of individuals, injured hundreds and displaced thousands, the residents of Addis Ababa are demonstrating at Meskel Square today September 17, 2018.

The demonstrators are flocking to Meskel Square stating this morning filling the road leading to Piassa from the square.

Addis Ababans from all sides of the city are marching to the Square to show their distaste to the ethnically charged conflicts in Burayu in particular and in the country in general.

Displaced people from Burayu and surrounding areas are being sheltered in a church, a school and Red Cross erected temporary tents in Addis Ababa.
