Muferiyat Kamil – the newly-appointed Minister for the newly-established Ministry of Peace – met with members of the media for a meet and greet session at her office yesterday. Muferiyat briefed reporters about the plans that her ministry is aspiring to achieve. In this regard, she told journalists that following an assessment that is being conducted on organizations and different ministries that are under her auspices, the Ministry of Peace would then be engaged in the process of developing a 10-year roadmap and other strategic documents so as to ensure peace throughout the country. Apart from this, Muferiyat also stated that, as of today, a year-long peace advocacy campaign has been launched and many activities will be conducted through this peace advocacy campaign, including facilitating the election of a peace ambassador from among the society and award Ethiopians who stand and advocated for peace at the end of the year.
