    Attorney General’s list of detainees in relation to alleged corruption

    Former Director General of the Metals and Engineering Corporation (MetEC), Kinfe Dagnew (Brig. Gen) has been arrested in Humera Tigray Regional State according to state media. This comes after the Federal Attorney General announced that 63 individuals from the National Intelligence and Security Service have been detained for alleged human rights violence and grand corruption. Below is the list of the suspects under custody.

    1. Guha Atsbeha Gidey – head of Addis Ababa Security
    2. Amanuel Kiros Medhin – director of the Main Department for Domestic Security
    3. Deribew Demelash – deputy director of Internal Security and department head for Economic Affairs
    4. Tesfaye Gebretsadik – head of Research and Crime Investigation, Internal Security Main Department
    5. Biniam Mamushet – head of Operation Affairs, Internal Security Main Department (Mainly concerned with Ginbot 7 Surveillance)
    6. Teshome Haile – head of Amhara Regional State Security and director of Main Department for Protection
    7. Addisu Bedassa – head of Oromia Regional State Security, Internal Security Main Department
    8. Yohannes a.k.a. Gebregziabher Wubet – External Intelligence
    9. Nega Kassie – head of Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) Surveillance at Counter Terrorism Department
    10. Temesgen Berhe – head of OLF and Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) Surveillance at Counter Terrorism Department
    11. Shewit Belay – deputy head of Ginbot 7 Surveillance, Internal Security Operation Department
    12. Ashenafi Tesfahun – coordinator at the Amhara Regional State’s North Gondar Zone, Internal Security Main Department
    13. Derso Ayana – head of External Intelligence Amhara Regional State’s Surveillance
    14. Seifu Belay – officer at Southern Regional State Surveillance, Internal Security Main Department
    15. Eyob Tewolde – head of Southern Regional State Surveillance, Internal Security Main Department
    16. Ahmed Geda – deputy head of Oromia Regional State Surveillance, Internal Security Main Department
    17. Deputy Commander Alemayehu Hailu Babata – Former Deputy head, then head of Anti-Terrorism Investigation Department at the Federal Police
    18. Deputy Inspector Yousuf Hassan – Terrorism Crimes Investigator
