Another cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) appoints former Amhara and Oromia regional state administrators, Gedu Andargachew and Lemma Megerssa, as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defense, respectively. Similarly, the current minister of Defense, Ayisha Mohammed (Eng.) was reassigned as Minister of Construction & Urban Development.

Accordingly, up on the nomination of the Prime Minister, the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) has approved the appointment of the ministers with the majority voting in support of the reshuffle, and with one nay and five abstains.

This is a third major cabinet reshuffle since Abiy came to power back in April, 2018.
