The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF), in light of the newly built stadium in Mekele, has requested CAF to confirm Mekele’s match be played at home. Mekele were crowned EPL champions with 59 points for the first time in their history.
Egyptian Champion Al Ahly will face South Sudan’s Atlabara FC in the first preliminary round and the winner of that match will face the winner between Mekele and Cano Sport in the round of 32.
