Horsemen appoint Serbian coach

Ethiopia’s most successful football club Saint George have appointed Serbian coach Srdjan Zivojnov as their new coach on a two-year deal.

The 47-year-old, who has coached various clubs in Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia, has been set the target of winning the domestic league and with a place in next season’s Champions League. The Horsemen, who withdrew from Ethiopia’s top flight with three games remaining citing security concerns, lost the league title to Mekele 70 Enderta.

He replaces British coach Stewart Hall, who was sacked in May after a series of unimpressive results at the 29-time Ethiopian champions. (BBC)
