Ethiopian Airlines marks the international women day, March 8, by operating an all women operated flight to Oslo, Norway on Thursday. The flight was commanded by AmsaleGualu(Capt.) and KalkidanGirma (Capt.). At a cocktail reception held at the newly opened Ethiopian Skylight Hotel president SahleworkZewdie, shared words of encouragement with women cockpit and cabin crew members. Women ministers and ambassadors attended the colorful ceremony. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO,Tewolde Gebremariam, said that women do not need a special help. “They can do whatever men do. They even can do a better job,” Tewolde said. Ethiopian Airlines has 16 women pilots, 160 aircraft technicians and 400 in management. Thirty five percent of the total workforce are women and the company wants to increase the number of women employees to fifty percent.
