The birthplace of Abiy
Beshasha is a small rural town just 17kms from Agaro, the seat of the district administration of the Goma Woreda and 496 kilometers from Addis Ababa. It was in this small town that Abiy Ahmed (PhD), the newly elected chair of the ruling coalition, the Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), was born where he lived along with his father Ahmed Aba Fita (C), his sister Tiruye Ahmed (L) and his brother Dafis Ahmed (R) until he moved for further education to the nearby town of Agaro. This small town in the south western part of the country is rich in natural resources and it is endowed with coffee and khat. Abiy will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of the country on the Monday April 2, 2018.
