Italian PM Visit
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte completed a one-day visit to Ethiopia, a country which has a special connection to his homeland for close to two centuries. Up on arrival, he was received by PM Abiy Ahmed (PhD) who was sworn in just three months before his Italian counterpart. Both the reception and the farewell ceremonies were seen to be quite warm and friendly with both PMs hugging and whispering in each other’s ears. After his brief stay in Addis, Conte headed to Asmara a.k.a Piccolo Roma, to meet Eritrean president Isaias Afwerki.
