Reconnecting with Mogadishu
Ethiopian Airlines suspended flights to Somalia’s capital Mogadishu in the 1970s due to political tensions between the two countries. As peace is restored and diplomatic ties are deepening, Ethiopian Airlines resumed a thrice weekly flights to Mogadishu on November 9, 2018. Ethiopian now connects Somalia with its vast international network of 116 destinations with a short stopover at its main hub, Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The national carrier offers a seamless connections to the large number of Somali diaspora residing in different parts of the world to their homeland. Senior executives of Ethiopian and Somali diplomats celebrated the inaugural flight at the VIP Saloon.
