Up in the sky
The Dubai Airshow is one of the most prestigious aviation exhibitions in the world. Held every other year at the Al Maktoum International Airport the Airshow attracts leading global aircraft and engine manufacturers, fighter airplanes and gunships, drone, air defence system, business jets and chopper manufactures. This year’s Dubai Airshow, which was officially opened by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, on November 12, attracted 1,200 exhibitors and 72,000 visitors. More than 160 aircraft were displayed at the Air Show. flydubai unveiled its brand new B737-MAX jetliner while Emirates and Etihad showcased their Airbus A380 double decker aircraft. Fighter planes including US made F16, Russian Sukhoi-35, and Chinese Chengdu J10 displayed their air maneuver capabilities over the Dubai skies.
