Two wheel horse-driven vehicle commonly known as cart is perhaps one of the oldest form of transportation in the world, which is mentioned in literatures as far as back the second millennium BC. In Ethiopia too, horse-driven carts have been serving the communities for thousands of years. Nevertheless, the mode of transportation has come a long way since then. These days, Addis is animated with a modern light rail system, buses, minibuses and cab taxies catering to the day to day needs of the commuter. Yet again, as one visits the outskirts of this increasingly modernizing city transportation mechanisms as old the cart can still be seen bustling about carrying people and goods.
