The Year in Picture
The Ethiopian year 2011 has no doubt been the most dramatic one in recent history.On the political side, the year has entertained the most profound events which are most likely to have deep-rooted impact in the nation’s political landscape for years to come. From the assassination of the most high-ranking officials in the Amhara regional state and the military to deadly clashes in Burayu, Benishangul-Gumuz and to Sidama zonal towns to the appointment of known figures in to the critical government posts, a lot has happened in the just ended year. Furthermore, it was also a year where disasters like the death of hundreds in the crashed MAX jetliner have struck the nation hard; and where a number of world leaders have visited Ethiopia.
