Former deputy commissioner of the Addis Ababa Police Commission, Girma Kassa, has been granted bail, with bail bond set at 15, 000 birr while 10 other officers from the Federal Police Commission are also set to be released on bail ranging from 6,000 to 9,000 birr.
Alarmed by the political and security turmoil that occurred in the Ethio-Somali Regional State last week, oil companies engaged in oil exploration projects in the region have evacuated their staff to Addis Ababa, it was learnt.
The All Ethiopian Unity Party (AEUP) has officially called for the removal of Article 39 from the FDRE constitution. The party, in its press briefing held in its headquarters on Thursday, August 9, 2018, stated that the conflicts and clashes witnessed in different parts of the country is the result of the article.
