The current chairman of the African Union (AU), President Felix Tshisekedi, submitted a new proposal to the leaders of Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan inviting them to primarily agree on the first filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), The Reporter has learnt.

A consortium of 176 locally established Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) revealed that they are prepared to deploy over 3,000 election observers in the upcoming general election slated for June 21, 2021.

The African Union Commission (AUC), in collaboration with various institutions and prominent individuals, is set to raise USD 300 million, nearly half the USD 647 million needed to ease the social, economic and humanitarian impacts of COVID-19 in all African countries.
