Drilling at Aluto Langano geothermal begins next week
The state-owned Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced that drilling at the Aluto Langano geothermal project in Ethiopia's Rift Valley will begin on April 18, 2021.

Tulu Moye power project gets USD 1.55 mln grant
The United States of America, through its International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), has committed USD 1.55 million (equivalent to some 54 million birr) in technical development for the Tulu Moye Geothermal Power Plant Project in Ethiopia.
TMGO kicks off power project
Tulu Moye Geothermal Operations (TMGO), a USD 800 million project, has started its drilling in Tulu Moye, located in Arsi Zone of Oromia Region. This is to be a long term project, due to be completed by 2025 and generate 150 MW, which will be added to the Ethiopian Electricity Grid base-load needs.
COVID-19 delays GERD material delivery
The Novel Corona Virus dubbed COVID-19 by the World Health Organization, caused a delay in the delivery of some equipment shipped for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), it was disclosed.
