Sher Ethiopia sales minority share to SGI Frontier
Afriflora Sher Ethiopia has sold a minority share of its operation in the country to SGI Frontier Capital – an American based private equity firm owned by Gabriel Schulze, the CEO of Schultze Global Investment, according to reliable sources who asked to stay anonymous.
Commission considers legal actions against flower farms
The Federal Environment, Forest and Climate Changes Commission and the Oromia Environment, Forest and Climate Changes Authority are considering duplicating the legal measures taken against tanneries,for what was said to be a repeated environmental pollution offenses, on flower farms in various location in the country and the regional state, The Reporter has learnt.
Dutch farms team up to engage in CSR
Three Dutch-owned horticulture farms have teamed-up to engage in corporate-social-responsibility mantra in Koka. The three Dutch farms: the Florensis Ethiopia, Syngenta and Dummen Orange have teamed up to help complement the work of the Social & Environmental development organization (SAEDO) which was established in 2014 as a local strategy to reduce poverty in the area by the said companies.
Flower expo to be held in Addis
As Ethiopia emerges as a noted exporter of fresh cut flowers to the world flower market, the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association is set to host its seventh edition of a HotrtiFlora Expo 2018 in the capital on March 14th for three consecutive days. This is to be a strategy to invite more foreign investors to the country as the booming flower industry that is emerging as a source of needed foreign currency to the Ethiopian market.
