Local assemblers to supply 400 cars to gov’t

Four local companies are bidding to supply 400 vehicles that will replace high-powered automobiles currently in use by government officials, pursuant to a directive issued by the Office of the Prime Minister which barred officials from using high-powered field vehicles while traveling within city limits.

Three months after the introduction of a directive restricting the use of high-powered vehicles by government officials, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation is to purchase 400 vehicles that will replace high-powered automobiles currently used by officials while traveling within city limits.

WBG commits billions this fiscal year

Signing a USD 470 million financing deal on Thursday with Abraham Tekeste, minister of finance and economic cooperation, Carolyn Turk, WB country director for Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan, said that the financing commitment the bank entered with Ethiopia is growing fast and, in line with that, the bank has decided to extend USD 1.8 billion for a period of six months in the current fiscal year.

WBG COMMITS USD 1.8 BILLION for half of the current fiscal year

Fast-tracking its projects in Ethiopia, the World Bank Group (WBG), has decided to commit USD 1.8 billion for the period of six months in the current fiscal year, the biggest ever financial commitment in the bank's history in such short period of time.

Firm lodges complaint against Adigrat University

Complaining about irregularities over a 150-million birr bid for the supply of IT equipment and installation of software issued by Adigrat University, Adiu Communication Service Plc, a local IT firm, asked for the intervention of the Federal Police and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation (MoFEC).
