Ethnic Hararis outside their region can vote for their Assembly, Court rules

The Federal Supreme Court has reversed the decision by the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) to not allow ethnic Hararis outside of their region to vote for an assembly within their regional council.

Over 18.4 million Ethiopians register  to vote

More than 18.4 million voters were registered for the upcoming general elections until April 22, 2021, according to the National Election Board of Ethiopia. The voters have been registered at 41,659 polling stations.

Board slams Somali region after it threatened to boycott election

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) slammed the regional state of Somali following the latter’s claim that it will not take part in the upcoming elections unless the Board reverses its decision to call off polling stations in the contested kebeles between Somali and Afar regional states.
