Egypt voices concern over prolonged GERD talks

Pushing towards growth and development, the Government of Ethiopia said that it will continue to maintain its position on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), despite Egypt’s unwavering attempts to pressure Ethiopia particularly on the length of time allotted to fill the dam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA) told The Reporter.

Simegnew Bekele (Eng.), the general manager of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project, which it being built on the Nile River, has been found dead in his vehicle in Addis Ababa’s Meskel Square this morning, The Reporter has learnt.

Tripartite talks over GERD to continue despite change of date

The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity (MoWIE), on Tuesday disclosed that, the planned negotiation between Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt will continue this month despite the change in meeting date that was earlier set by the leaders of the three countries.
