Opposition parties fail to appear before NEBE for registration

Following the call by the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) to opposition parties residing outside the country to organize their struggles in a different form; the head of communication of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), Tesfalem Abay told The Reporter that none of the parties that have returned have appeared for the registration purposes. 

AEUP calls  for annulment of Article 39

The All Ethiopian Unity Party (AEUP) has officially called for the removal of Article 39 from the FDRE constitution. The party, in its press briefing held in its headquarters on Thursday, August 9, 2018, stated that the conflicts and clashes witnessed in different parts of the country is the result of the article.

Blue demands “star” be removed from flag

Blue Party (Blue) in its press briefing held at its headquarters on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 officially requested the star emblem in the middle of the national flag to be scrapped and extended its question to use the older version of the flag without any additional emblem.
