Swedish minister praises reform in Ethiopia
Ahead of the International Conference on Climate Change and Global Warming summit 2019, set to take place in Stockholm, Sweden, from July 15-16, 2019, the Scandinavian nation’s Deputy Minister of International Cooperation, Per Olsson Fridh made a two day visit to Ethiopia and restated his nation’s support for the reform process taking place in the country during the last year.
House revises refugees bill
The House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) has revised a draft bill on refugees this week to help with the GoE’s refugee integration program by giving a wider access for refugees in Ethiopia ranging from business activities, to the right to possess property as well as duty-free importation.

IDPs continue to climb in Ethiopia
A new report released by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) indicated that the number of people internally displaced has continued to grow over the past two months. The recent report shows that the figure has increased from two million to 2.33 million people displaced.
Confusion at the border
In a surprise turn of events this weeks, the government in Asmara is reported to have closed down it borders with Ethiopia, adjoining the Tigray Regional State, from the side of Eritrea with no official explanation yet offered by both countries.
