UAE Contractor secures USD 100 mln expansion at Berbera
A repeatable UAE contractor Shafa Al Nahda, long associated with DP World another known port developer and operator, has clinched the USD 101 million expansion projects planned at the Port of Berbera, Somaliland this week.
DP World eyes Dire Dawa for logistics development
While Ethiopian officials failed to show up at the contract award and signing ceremony of the USD 101 million Berbera Port phase one expansion project, DP World, UAE’s port and terminal operating company has expressed its interests in developing logistical trade facilities at Dire Dawa and the surrounding areas in Ethiopia serving the so called Berbera Trade Corridor.
National Airways acquires five aircraft
One of the indigenous private airlines in Ethiopia, National Airways, has bought five passenger aircraft from the US.
National Airways purchased the aircraft from an American company. The aircraft are Embraer ERJ145 with 50 seats. Four of the aircraft have already arrived Addis Ababa and the fifth one is expected to arrive in the coming few days.
