Africa CDC, MasterCard Foundation partner to accelerate testing

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and MasterCard Foundation have partnered to respond to COVID-19. Through its COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience Program, Masters Foundation is committing USD 40 million to the Africa CDC’s Partnership to Accelerate COVID-19 Testing (PACT). 

CDC partners EPHI to build capacity

CDC Ethiopia is helping Ethiopia build its capacity to support laboratories and health facilities as it faces the challenges of the COVID–19 pandemic. This comes as the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) and CDC lab experts are conducting a COVID-19 lab tests locally, surpassing the need to send samples to South Africa for basic testing.

US pledges USD 37 mln

The US, through its State Department and its developmental agency, the Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has pledged USD 37 million to Ethiopia to fight COVID-19 pandemic.

Africa CDC says continent on high alert for Covid-19

The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) headquartered at the African Union (AU) said the continent is on a high alert to deter the potential arrival of covid-19, The Reporter has learnt. The explosive spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak has infected more than 75,000 people and killed more than 2,000.
