Engaged in major construction projects in Africa and Ethiopia, ranging from the development of industrial parks to the construction of airport facilities, China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) has announced plans to engage in the real-estate sector in Ethiopia as well as other African countries to avert risks related to giant projects it is implementing in the continent.
A Chinese national contracted to work for Ethiopian Airlines as a flight attendant in a position of trainee was deported from Addis Ababa last night amid accusation of property destruction in a feat of rage, The Reporter has learnt.
A group of 100 Chinese, representing 57 companies, arrived in Addis and held a series of meetings with officials and local businesses. On Friday, a meeting dubbed “China Zhejiang- Ethiopia Trade and Investment Symposium,” was held and accompanied with the launch of a Liaison Office for Commerce and Trade Arbitrations.
With a growing Chinese presence within Ethiopia, China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC) is set to make its regional head office at Addis Ababa. To be called CCC’s East Africa Head Office, Technology and Innovation Center for Construction Technologies, it will be situated on a 30,000 m2 plot of land.
