GIZ launches award for Ethiopian coffee farmers

German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has launched an award to recognize innovative ideas within the farmers of Ethiopia worth EUR 50,000.

The German tourist, Walter Roepert (MD) that died in the Afar Regional State, in Northeastern Ethiopia earlier this month survived the first shot that accidently hit him and his guide that was meant to be a warning and did not die on the spot as reported by various media outlets in Ethiopia and Germany, The Reporter has learned.

Killed German tourist identified as MD

A German tourist, who was confirmed dead in an attack in the Afar Regional State of Northeastern Ethiopia, has been identified as Walter Roepert (MD) from Aalen, Germany. The German citizen who was an ear, nose and throat specialist died on the scene while his translator survived and is said to be treated at a nearby hospital.
