Lengthy market chain behind doubling Cement price

Cement price doubled as traders charge twice the ceiling price set by the Ministry of Trade & Industry. A quintal of cement is now being traded between 530 and 550 birr in Addis Ababa, though the ceiling price for similar amount of the item is set at 290 birr.

Horizon Addis halts manufacturing of Tyres

Horizon Addis Tyre, formerly known as Addis Tyre, announced it stopped production of tyres due to lack of foreign currency to import raw materials from overseas. It further said that it has almost been ten days since it ran-out of raw materials.
